E' un romanzo che narra di vicende taciute, che rievocano il processo che subì Arimane (qui Mr. Harimann) nel lontano medioevo. L'astrofisico M. Teodorani, nel suo saggio "CRONOVISORE - sogno del futuro o esperimenti reali?" (MacroEdizioni), ci parla di uno strumento ideato dal benedettino Padre Ernetti, capace di scrutare nel passato. Gli avvenimenti però non sono prevedibili, perché in gioco ci sono interessi che travalicano il piccolo mondo degli umani e coinvolgono direttamente il Principe della Luce (qui identificabile come il creatore degli uomini) e un potentissimo demone dell'Infinito. Cosicché un certo Alfred Hartmann, la voce narrante che ci accompagnerà nel romanzo, giocherà un ruolo determinante per l'intera vicenda.
